Purpose

Delivers engagements within the constraints of schedule, features/functionality, and budget.
Manages the work that must be done in order to deliver an integrated solution usually composed of products, services, or a formalized solution offering
Establishes a strategy of continuous risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the project life cycle and create an environment to support it where the project team has visible, measurable, and repeatable processes for managing these risks
Executes established (as mutually agreed to) policies and procedures for the project, e.g. quality assurance, team reference guide, communication plan, and setting up the environment.
Manages (as mutually agreed) Microsoft resources, partners and/or customer resources and materials (equipment, supplies, stock, or consumable/perishable items) used to complete tasks in a project.
Maintains the Master Project Plan to include at least: the Communication Plan (communications within the team and between the team and external entities) and the Team Reference Guide Plan (identifies team and external team members). In addition, maintains the Master Project Schedule.
Stays current and involved in collecting conditions of the project relative to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), and features (the solution and its quality) as specified by the established project protocol. In addition, performs the process of comparing actual performance with planned performance, analyze variances, evaluate possible alternatives and take appropriate corrective action (control) as specified by the established project protocol.
Collects, reviews and publishes project status with regard to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), stakeholder management, and features (the solution and its quality) that influence project performance and completion.
Follows the principles of the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and the current Services methodology (MSDM) in project delivery

Qualification

BA or Master’s degree
5-8 years of related experience
Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Customer/Partner Relationships, Product & Technology Expertise, Project Management, Strategic Insight
Project Management fundamentals (e.g. PMI or equivalent) and Industry-specific certifications (as and if applicable)

Purpose

Playing a vital part in business strategy by providing internal practice management risk assessment
Accountable for solution structure, risk planning, timeline, Partner solution and IP integration, service line solution and offering inclusion
Providing customer guidance during solution sales cycle
Accountable for quality of technical proposal deliverables and accountable for sign off on all project estimations
Works with Technical Quality Assurance to ensure all technical risk mitigated
Project Manages proposal technical quality and solution integrity across all stakeholders (internal MS and partner)
Drives technical quality reviews with Microsoft stakeholders, partners and client stakeholders
Drives field enablement during deal structure, ensuring that local subsidiary at handover is confident in ability to deliver against scope in deal/proposal.
Builds archive of standard scope of work to address common requests for MCS engagements and creates a number of standard templates that can be leveraged by field sales teams
Builds standard set of estimation models to support common delivery scenarios with ability to differentiate on skill level of resources to deliver
Drive community and enablement of field sellers for commonly requested MCS engagements.
Driving operational excellence and innovation

Qualification

Must have a degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Higher relevant education preferred.
At least 10 years related IT experience.
Work experience should involve pre-sales support, risk management, technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, development, deployment, and management.
Must have a proven record of delivering business value lighthouse project environments.
Some business process and people management skills or related experience required.
Role Specific Characteristics May Include

The IT Director for South Africa and West East & Central Africa equipt with the Business Relationship Management capabilities supports the goals of Microsoft IT through development and maintenance of clear communication channels and positive relationships with SMSG Country leadership to ensure that the IT organisation is delivering appropriate capabilities, and that our stakeholders can fully benefit from the capabilities delivered.

Purpose

Position IT as a strategic partner with South Africa and WECA Country leadership teams by developing & managing direct relationships with key stakeholders, influencers & subject matter experts.
Set appropriate expectations through establishment of effective Conditions of Satisfaction with appropriate Stakeholders. Deliver Country specific Account Plans in partnership with MEA IT Director and IT team members, and ensure a holistic approach to delivery of this plan.
Clearly articulate the Voice of the Countries – activities which must be prioritised to deliver maximum return on investment by IT.
Clearly articulate the Voice of IT, helping Country leadership understand and accept the context in which IT operates.
Work with Country leadership teams as well as MEA IT team to establish a realistic and cohesive strategy for process, tools & data investment in the Countries.
Collaborate with business partners to find alternatives and solutions to business challenges, seeking out systems & process solutions already in use elsewhere that can be leveraged to meet business requirements
Supports the Country GMs in the realization of agreed objectives, and in ongoing reviews with the MEA IT Team.
Ensures benefits & return on investment (including CPE impact) are identified & tracked for the solutions delivered
Ensures consistent, structured communications with the South Africa and WECA Country leadership team and the MSIT functions
Works with business partners to translate business strategies into tangible improvement plans aimed at bringing about a measurable improvement in the ‘as-is’ process

How will be measured

Development of specific account plans to support the definition and delivery of Country IT business needs.
Adoption of executive commitments on account plans.
Account Management for L1 and key L2-L3 leaders.
Accountable for all MSIT engagement, communication and commitment plans.
Enabling SMSG Growth Capability on Global Platforms (Platform/infrastructure deployment targets – shared): e.g. drive full adoption of CRM tools / reduction of local applications.
Achieving business process improvements by simplifying redundant steps and procedures for the users of IT systems, tools and applications.
Determining which IT Solutions and Services get deployed in what Geographies, to what Business Segments and when this happens.
Decision making around what Service Levels are appropriate for IT Services within a Geography / Bus. Segment. Frequency, content and location (face to face or calls) of Meetings with Business Leaders.
Metrics including:
# CIO scorecard
# Overall IT Client Satisfaction (NSAT)
# BPS NSAT
# Fiscal efficacy of all IT Investment focused on a Geo
