Purpose

To offer students practical work experience related to their studies (max 6 months)
The successful candidates will be provided with an opportunity to complete P1 or P2 training required by their tertiary institution to successfully complete their degree and/or diploma

Preference will be given to residents of Secunda, Evander, Kinross, eMbalenhle, Leandra,
Bethal, Sasolburg/ Vaal area

Start date of the programme: 1 July 2013

Qualification

Currently studying towards a formal qualification and in need of experiential training to complete such studies (proof of requirement will be required).
Grade 12 with a C Symbol aggregate
Medical and security checks will also form part of the selection process

Role Profile

This position is for Bursary students. The full/partial bursary will be awarded to previously disadvantage students (South African), who have consistently proven academic excellence/performance.
Students will also be expected to maintain an excellent academic progress throughout their level of studies.
Full bursary includes payment of tuition fees, accommodation, books and monthly allowance.

Minimum Requirements

Students must be currently studying and/or planning to study towards a Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification with an SAICA accredited University.
Students must obtain a minimum of 60% per subject.
Student will be awarded bursaries on the basis of consistent academic performance (awarding of full/partial bursary will depend on current financial status, which will be reviewed by the firm).

Implats Bursaries 2013

Implats bursaries are open to all candidates meeting the minimum criteria of a university exemption pass and a minimum C symbol in mathematics and science.
Our bursaries cover:
Registration and tuition fees for the duration of the course
Residence fees
Cash allowance
Personal computer allowance from second year of study

Should you be awarded an Implats bursary, you will be required to work for the company for the full period of the bursary and to undertake vacation work at the company at the end of each year.

Implats offers bursaries in various fields:
Engineering

Electrical (heavy current)
Chemistry to honours level, with a second major in either physics or mathematics
Geology to honours level, with a second major in one of the following:
